History

1991 – Having had a decade of restaurant experience in operating the China House Restaurant in Lake Stevens, WA and the China House Express in Marysville, WA, Tony and Judy decide to try manufacturing and turn their focus to making noodles.

1992 – Wan Hua Foods, Inc. was created and named after the borough co-founder Judy grew up on in Taipei, Taiwan. In its earliest days, the manufacture was located in the basement of the RDA building on Maynard Avenue and provided Fresh Asian-style noodles to local restaurants and groceries.

1995 – An arson fire engulfed a neighboring building and Wan Hua was flooded with the water firefighters use to battle the fire. Equipment and inventory was severely damaged by the flood and production ceased. The manufacture closed for restoration.

1996 – In order to quickly resume operations after the flood, Tony and Judy relocated Wan Hua Foods, Inc. to a larger facility on 6th Avenue South and Dearborn.

Present – Wan Hua Foods, Inc. continues to operate from the outskirts of the International District and provide the Pacific Northwest with delicious, quality Asian-style noodles.
